The Growing Opportunities program at Resource Assistance for Youth, Inc. (RaY) provides youth ages 16-29 with pre-employment training and on-the-job support including life skills and mentorship opportunities. The Growing Opportunities Manager is responsible for maintaining workplace partnerships, ensuring our kitchen training program is fully functional and meeting food service standards as well as, providing supervision support to the staffing in the Growing Opportunities department. RaY is a fast paced environment which depends on reliable, open-minded, flexible and team oriented individuals to provide youth with what they need, on their terms, to better their lives.

  • HOURS: Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly
  • SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday (9:00-5:00), some evenings and weekends may be required
  • SALARY RANGE: $18 – $22 per hour

Kitchen Coordinator

Position: Kitchen Coordinator

The Kitchen Training Program provides youth facing homelessness and marginalization with specialized training to receive the fundamentals of food services. The Kitchen Coordinator manages and provides leadership regarding all aspects of the program and mentors youth who are seeking employment opportunities. The Kitchen Coordinator will work the team to ensure all youth are provided with the necessary training and supports to be successful. RaY is a fast paced environment which depends on reliable, open minded, flexible, and team oriented individuals to provide youth with what they need, on their terms, to better their lives.

  • HOURS: Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly

ROOM Case Manager (2 Positions)

Position: ROOM Case Manager (2 positions)

RaY Optional Occupancy Mentorship (ROOM), is a supportive transitional housing program under the housing department. The ROOM Case Manager provides effective case management to youth ages 17-21 years old that have ‘Extensions of Care’ from Child and Family Services. The ROOM Case Manager maintains a caseload with key components focused on independency and successful tenancy. The ROOM Case Manager will life map and set goals with youth and ensure supports are provided at all times, this will require on-call, evenings and weekend availability. RaY is a fast paced environment which depends on reliable, open-minded, flexible and team oriented individuals to provide youth with what they need, on their terms, to better their lives.

  • HOURS: Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly

Housing Case Manager (Non-Housing First)

Position: Housing Case Manager (Non-Housing First)

The Non-Housing Support program at RaY consists of one Housing Case Manager that serves youth that are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. The Housing Case Manager will be responsible for managing a caseload of at least 40 individuals with the objective of providing participants with supports to maintain housing stability. In addition, the Housing Case Manager will connect clients to income supports and provide pre-employment supports that bridge youth to the labour market, or connect participant to education/training opportunities. The Housing Case Manager works to navigate systems, liaise and refer youth to appropriate resources that meet their short and long-term needs. RaY is a fast paced environment which depends on reliable, open-minded, flexible and team oriented individuals to provide youth with what they need, on their terms, to better their lives.

The Street Outreach Worker works alongside the Street Outreach Coordinator providing comprehensive outreach to street-entrenched youth ages 29 and under. The Outreach team adapts a unique preventative approach utilizing a harm reduction model which increases access to services, promotes safety and addresses dynamic barriers and complexities faced by street entrenched youth.   • HOURS: Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly
  • SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri (1:00- 9:00 p.m.), some Saturdays
  • SALARY RANGE: $16.50 – $18.50 per hour
