RaY’s friends and supporters are a talented, creative group of folks who are looking for ways to make a difference in the lives of youth.
If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you!
Whether it’s donating the proceeds from your side hustle, rallying your community group for a letter writing campaign, or collecting in-kind items for our basic needs department, we are available to support you. Tag us in your social media posts @raywinnipeg and we’ll be happy to share!
Need ideas? Here are some example of ways people have raised money for us before:
Clay’m donated proceeds from jewelry sales
Michelle started making clay jewelry to stay busy during the early days of the COVID-19 lockdown. She didn’t really want to start her own business, so instead she decided to donate 100% of the proceeds to a different charity in Winnipeg each month. RaY was her inaugural charity choice, raising over $1,400 from the sale of her jewelry!
“I started Clay’m during the pandemic related lockdown as a way to use my spare time and privilege to raise funds for local organizations. I chose Ray as the first recipient of Clay’m proceeds because I believe they support diverse groups of people in immediate need of support.”
Asper School of Business students chose RaY as their charity of choice
Students at the I.H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba chose RaY as their charity of choice while participating in an international case competition. They made marketing collateral to raise awareness about RaY’s need for gently used men’s jeans. By choosing RaY, they ensured we got a $650 donation from the case competition organizers.
