Our crew has extensive experience in relocating businesses and organizations to their new space and will ensure that the process is as smooth and stress-free as possible. Need to get rid of any unwanted items during the move? No problem! If they are in good condition, we’ll make sure to give them a new home by donating them to local non-profits.

We are able to remove almost any item, as long as it’s not hazardous and can be lifted by two people.

Our rates are based on the volume of the load, and are all inclusive (including disposal fees):

  • 1/4 truck (147 cubic ft) = $150
  • 1/2 truck (294 cubic ft) = $250

RaY Works partners with the Level Up! Education and Training program to provide supportive work placements for youth coming out of classroom training. This is where they learn life-skills and train to become work-ready. During their time with RaY Works, youth receive wrap-around supports while learning important on-the-job skills.

We offer free moving supports for the RaY Housing department, which works with youth to access safe and secure housing. With these supports, RaY Works helps to ensure precariously housed youth don’t exist into homelessness and are able to keep their essential pessessions.

Which geographical areas do you serve?

We primarily serve the metropolitan area of Winnipeg.

Do you offer insurance?

Yes. We offer complimentary released valuation coverage of $0.60/pound. Customers will be encouraged to either review their own property insurance to see if includes more extensive coverage or to use a third-party insurance company to guarantee they have full coverage for items of high value.

In order to be eligible for Released Value Protection, TVs must be placed into a re-usable TV packing box (provided by RaY Moving) prior to being moved.

Are there any items that you aren’t liable for?

Yes. RaY Works does not assume liability for the following:

  • Documents, currency, jewelry, precious stones, furs, items of sentimental value, electronic data, and articles of extraordinary value
  • Loss or damage due to breakage of china, glassware, or other fragile items, unless packed and unpacked by the mover and documented on delivery
  • Damage caused by items packed by the consumer
  • Mechanical operating condition of televisions, appliances, computers, and electronics
  • Missing items not inventoried at origin and documented as missing on delivery
I noticed that an item was damaged during the move. How do I make a claim?

If damage is noted upon arrival at the drop-off address, the lead mover is required to document the damage, and must be signed by both the employee and the customer. This information will be reviewed, and the customer can expect to be contacted within 48 hours of the move being completed.

Additionally, the customer has 30 days to file a claim of loss or damage. RaY Works is obligated to acknowledge and resolve the claim, in writing, within 30 days of receipt.

RaY Works is committed to promptly and fairly attempting to resolve disputes concerning loss or damage claims, through in-house complaints-handling and external dispute resolution processes, as appropriate and available. RaY Works will be guided by what constitutes a fair dispute resolution process by drawing on the “Consumer Complaints Management: A Guide for Canadian Business”.

Do you require a deposit?

No. We do not require a deposit

What is your cancellation policy?

In the event that a move or junk removal is cancelled, we charge a cancellation fee with less than 24 hours notice.

Do you work on weekends or holidays?

No. Our hours are 9 am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. We are closed on all statutory holidays.

How do you charge?

We charge an hourly rate, and a fuel surcharge. Our billable hours start upon arrival at the origin address and stop once we finish unloading at the destination address.

We do not charge for travel time.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all credit cards, debit and cash. For safety reasons, our movers do not carry a float with them, so change cannot be provided.

Are there items you can’t move?

Yes. RaY Works cannot move the following:

  1. Aerosol cans
  2. Ammunition
  3. Cleaning Products
  4. Fire Extinguisher
  5. Gasoline
  6. House paints
  7. Open alcohol containers
  8. Open/perishable food
  9. Pets
  10. Plants
  11. Welding gas
  12. Pianos
Is it mandatory to purchase mattress and comforter bags?

For sanitary reasons, all mattresses must be packed in a mattress bag. These bags can either be purchased through RaY Works or by the customer at the business of their choosing.

What should I do to prepare for my move?

Ensure that all items are taken out of drawers and packed safely.

Ensure all items are safely packed and placed safely out of the way of entrances and main pathways.

Movers can only move items which are packed. If the movers arrive at the pick-up address and items are not ready to be moved safely, the customer will be informed that they cannot move these items. The customer will be given the option to either re-schedule or for only the packed items to be moved.

When providing junk removal, can you provide a specific price without seeing my items?

We can provide our best estimate, based on the information provided. However, final pricing will be determined on site, on the day of your junk removal.

Can I book a junk removal along with my move?

Absolutely! Add a junk removal onto your move, and you will receive 10% of our regular rates.

Are there any items you are unable to take during a junk removal?

We cannot remove the following during a junk removal:

  • Flammable items
  • Hazardous waste
  • Old batteries and paints
  • Dirt, gravel, concrete or cinder blocks
